Site 5 Hosting Review

What I love about Site 5 is that they're one of the hidden gems in web hosting services. To be honest I can't even remember how I found them. I think it was a referral from a friend (the best kind of testimonial eh?) and I signed up with them for a reseller account to test them out. That was 5 years ago now and I've been happy with my choice ever since. In the same 5 years I've tried and disposed of about 10 other hosting accounts with some of the "best" companies out there.....ummmm....they weren't so great.

Site 5 aren't a bargain basement hosting operation but then again they never sold themselves as anything but a quality hosting service. Their prices might be a little higher on certain products or services but that's their game. They do offer web hosting packages from under $5 per month but they also offer some really high-end server stuff too!

Don't get me wrong here though. Site5 can and do offer hosting packages for a touch under $5 per month for shared hosting. They don't ignore the newbie customers but they're MORE than capable of dealing with big hitter requirements too.

One of my favourite things about my Site5 account is the administration panels they use - called Backstage and SiteAdmin. Now this might seem like a minor thing but these add functionality to my account that I love! Everything from server respone and uptime to being able to edit my .htaccess files directly. You'll still find Cpanel in there don't worry - Backstage just adds that extra layer of usability that makes Site5 stand out on their own in terms of quality.

Site5 Support

This is where Site 5 really stick out in my mind in terms of excellent - their support is absolutely fantastic. They will stick with a problem until it's resolved. For example I had a problem with a bunch of cyber criminals who were hacking my site. I had done everthing I could possibly think of to resolve the problem but was stumped. The Site5 guys stuck with it until they figured out what the problem was and showed me how to stop it (it was a sneaky Cron job plugin for Wordpress that was riddled with security holes if you really want to know) and badda-bing problem solved forever.

That's the other thing about Site5 support - it's not outsourced and you can tell by the speed and quality of the replies you get.

Are Site5 perfect? Nope. Of course not. They suffer downtime and technical glitches but when you compare Site5 with some of the other hosting donkeys I've used they are a hidden gem to be honest. They really value their customers and they'll prove this to you over and over again once you sign up with them.

Two thumbs up for Site5! I only wish I had more hands so I could give them 4 thumbs up folks!! :-D
