Cheap Website Hosting Reseller Accounts

You've probably heard of reseller website hosting before but never thought too much about it. After all how different can it be from normal hosting? Well that all depends on what you want from a hosting account.

Reseller hosting isn't all that different from shared hosting when it comes down to what you're being offered. It all depends on the host but sometimes with those shared hosting accounts you're stuck with a single Cpanel and trying to organize everything from there. Cheap but efficient right? It's manageable as long as either:

1. You don't have a lot of domains.

2. You don't want to setup your own small webhosting business.

For me it was having a lot of domains and wanting better control over them.

For me I work with A LOT of domains so I needed more control.

So how is reseller hosting different? Basically when each domain is setup it has it's own dedicated user admin/Cpanel area. It's kept totally separate from the main account so end-users never see any of your personal details. It also allows you to setup user packages so you can specity certain features in the account like disk space, bandwidth, SQL databases etc etc just once and then apply it to as many new or existing accounts as you want.

For me this means I can upgrade hosting for sites that are performing well in one or two clicks. I won't have to scrap everything and start again. It also means that I can lease some hosting space to friends now and again if I want to bring in a few extra bucks.

Reseller hosting might cost you a little bit more but all the extra features you get are well worth it. There's nothing wrong with shared hosting folks but for me I can't live without my reseller accounts :-)

The reseller hosts I use right now are Hostgator (my favourite) and Site 5 (very close runner up). I use these on a daily basis and give them my own personal double thumbs up folks. Sure you can probably find cheaper hosting elsewhere but you won't find the reliability or the support that comes with companies like Hostgator or Site5.
